It’s been a week since I’ve been back in town.

BUT,

I’m still suffering from this unbearably cruel jet lag and it surely is slowing down my immune system..

All I want right now is this unagi BBQ dinner with my family in Korea…

DSC06970DSC06971

My family’s favorite restaurant ever since 2005!

It’s literally down the street from my house in Korea.

So, when we don’t feel like driving or taking taxi after drinking, we just walk there to eat and walk back home 🙂

So much protein and not fattening at all! I miss this meal so much…

DSC06976

Ending the meal with a bowl of kimchi-jjiggae.

Rise and… eat!

My grandmother feels lost when I don’t eat 4-5 times a day when I’m in Korea.

This girly gotta eat non-stop to please my grandma.

DSC06983

When I’m about to digest my breakfast, my grandmother tells me it’s a snack time.

DSC06985

…. a little too much for snack, but I gotta make sure my grandma doesn’t get upset.

DSC06986

….. 3 hours later it’s apparently a dinner time.

DSC06989

Duck BBQ for dinner… and she tells me duck isn’t fattening so it’s going to help me lose weight..

DSC06990

It was a delicious meal but I was too full to enjoy anything.

DSC06992

…then she got upset and told me I lost too much weight therefore I need to consume more.

Isn’t 3 meals + 1 snack enough to get me fat?

The lovely grandma Shin!

I literally had the worst food coma of my life after this meal.

DSC06998

And it’s morning again.

Eat.Sleep.Eat.REPEAT.

DSC06996 DSC06997

This was the last meal I had at home, so I made sure to eat a lot to keep my grandma happy 🙂

I checked-in at the newest hotel in town- The Conrad Seoul.

DSC07018

After traveling and staying at the nicest hotels all over the world, hotels in Korea tend to feel super over-priced for their service and ambience. Especially, hotel food in Seoul is soooooo overpriced its ridiculous.

A glass of carrot juice would cost you U.S $30 and a bowl of (instant) noodle would be around $40.

DSC07017

Oh well, the new Conrad of Seoul was okay. I wouldn’t recommend it though.

DSC07015

Conrad’s breakfast buffet was actually nice. But this is the only plate I had since I was too full from my grandma’s food that I had a day before.

DSC06999

Walked around Myungdong and found this pretty gelato icecream.

DSC07000

DSC07002

Myungdong was pretty empty for once since everyone in Korea was freaking out about MERS!

Ended a day with a light dinner! Mushroom shabushabu- and it surely felt good to eat healthy and light!

Xoxo,

Eriko
